Prairie #6

If you looked at "The Prairie Experiment" first, you will notice the distinct similarities between the exterior appearances of the two houses. The floor plans aren't very similar, except that the front door (and the garage) are in about the same relative positions.

It's no accident that this house design has a certain pyramidal shape to it. It is intentional, and lends to the "solid" look of the house.

Some things worth noting:

On the second floor you might note the following:

Front view, at night. Handsome house, if I do say so.

This view is from the right side of the house, showing the court and the back covered porch.

Same view as above, only after dark.

This is the same as the bigger view, above, only at night. I do like night scenes.

This is the view from inside the front door. The stairs are to our immediate left. That's the family room with the row of windows.

This looks back toward the front door, from the sliding glass doors to the porch. That hall just beyond the fireplace leads to the master suite.

This looks toward the kitchen and the doors to the porch.

The master bath, and the details around the spa tub.

The sinks and the shower in the master bath.

This is the master bedroom, looking toward the sliding glass doors that lead to the private courtyard.

The kitchen, looking toward the family room.

Upstairs. This looks from the landing toward the upstairs family room. Note that there's a step up in the hallway. The hall's ceiling is kept higher to match the ceiling of the family room.

From the family room, this looks back toward the stairs. The bedrooms are down at that end of the house.

This is the front bedroom, looking toward the "study" where there's access to the side deck.

And finally, this shows the raised dressing area off the back bedroom.
